We have some quick and easy ideas to help you build your burger from scratch - starting with our range of fresh meat patties, saving you time in the kitchen to get creative.

From choosing your meat, toppings, buns and sides, follow our easy step by step guide for creating the best DIY burger in a flash. Go crazy with toppings or keep it simple and traditional, it's up to you!

As a starting point, select your fresh meat from our exclusive Blackhill Meat & Poultry range sourced locally on the Island of Ireland. Alternatively cook with frozen or vegan patties dependent on your kitchen space and customer preferences.

Cheesy or crunchy? Get creative with our range of classic fresh ingredients, relish and sauces to add texture, taste or tang and that all important cheese to your burger.

The best burger bun should be pillowy and soft but also firm enough to hold everything together. Serve with sides for a delicious main meal.

  • Make sure to get the bread to meat ratio right.
  • Use a thinner burger (4oz) for cooking quickly or use a 6 or 8oz burger for more of a bite & texture.
  • Melt the cheese onto the patty while cooking instead of adding it on after cold for a better taste.
  • Don't be shy with adding condiments for texture and flavour. It's good to finish with a relish or traditional sauce.
  • Leave fresh meat out at room temperature for 30 mins to allow it to relax before cooking.
  • Add a point of difference and use ingredients like smoked bacon for a touch of smokiness that marries with other ingredients.
  • Toast the burger bun to add flavour and prevent a soggy bun falling apart.
  • Offer the option of corn or coleslaw alongside the traditional fries as a point of difference.
  • Serve with loaded fries to make your menu stand out.
  • Depending on the season, serve with salad or pasta salad for a lighter option.
