October - get ready and stay ahead!

By October all businesses should have implemented appropriate labelling change on PPDS Foods.

Local enforcement authorities will begin inspection on premises. This will be in the form of a visit and inspection from environmental health officers EHO’s reviewing labelling and allergen controls.

Businesses will then have to maintain and keep up to date their recipes and labelling, taking reasonable steps to ensure that information provided is correct e.g.

  • auditing raw material labels
  • verifying recipes
  • challenging staff
  • reviewing and updating allergen matrixes
