Henderson Foodservice & Clandeboye Lodge in bumper food delivery for local foodbank

We were delighted to support our customer, Clandeboye Lodge, with delivering nearly £2,000 worth of food to a local charity foodbank, Storehouse North Down. The initiative was supported by guests who also donated through the Clandeboye Lodge gift voucher campaign over Christmas and New Year.

Food Poverty has been highlighted in the media recently with the added impact of the Covid-19 crisis being felt by so many in our local community. There have been many families in the local area struggling to feed themselves at this time and Clandeboye Lodge were keen to do something to help.

Margaret Bailie, Chairperson of Storehouse North Down, said ’Last year we gave out £120,000 worth of food in hampers to local families and the numbers of families requiring our service is increasing in 2021 as this pandemic continues. That’s a demand of approximately £10,000 worth of food every month. We would not be able to help so many families without the support of local businesses like the Clandeboye Lodge’.

Michael Lappin, Business Development Manager, Henderson Foodservice said ‘We were delighted to collaborate with Clandeboye Lodge on this worthy initiative. During these challenging times, it was a privilege to support a local charity in the community that we work and live in for a worthy cause’.

Pim Dalm, Managing Director of the Clandeboye Lodge commented ‘This year we were keen to support a local community project and the fight against food poverty was at the top of our list and so we approached Storehouse North Down.”

He continued, ‘We were very pleased to bring on board Henderson Foodservice to help double our efforts against this growing crisis and are delighted to be able to deliver nearly £2,000 worth of food goods'.
